KING OF SEESTADT

The King of Seestadt is like life, itself, a game and adventure. Well humored art develops a multimedia spectacle of text, drawing, photography, sculpture, painting and performance. Humorous, poetic and naughty impressions accompany the reader on a touching journey to oneself. The book is about the desire for freedom and the quest to create a life that we always dreamed about.

"An old man accompanied by a one-eyed pug on a leash approached Mr. Yellow, looking him in the eye said: "You have no sea in you yet," and let himself be pulled away by the pug. Neon looked after him, it was as if a sudden cure opened his eyes as the old man stepped away. Neon Yellow felt recognized, something was missing inside, so maybe that’s why he wanted to make this trip? He had been longing to embody what he really was. He had the feeling only then he would feel part of the tapestry of life."

THE GREAT ESCAPE

The text of The Great Escape describes the transformation of the protagonist Vincent Zettel. Art and life conspire to lead Zettel beyond his normal existence – an existence that he increasingly feels is like a prison – towards an inner freedom. The dramatic Great Escape, and the arrival of Zettel in a new, interior land, is accompanied by pictures and sculptures by the visual artist Briant Rokyta. is book has two beginnings and also two covers. On one side you start with the german version accompanied with sculptures and on the other side - with the second cover - you enjoy the english version together with paintings. The center of the book is the meeting point of the endings.

„As Zettel’s heart drinks in the cool stream of the night, he remembers what he was before he had a name, before the living stone was formed. With unbound life blazing within him, like Prometheus, his long gaze sweeps the horizons. Majestic clouds move, like stately galleons, across a sky tinted with sea-green. The playful wind tousles his now sparse hair, performs a coquettish dance on his meagre table, and scampers away. As his inner voices depart he watches the setting of the sun and listens to the breath entering and leaving his body. He strides through rooms strangely empty; as empty and voiceless as his own interiors. They are like the hallowed spaces of a temple. Wherever your eye happens to fall, you gaze straight into a temple.“

THE REVOLUTION WITH CLOSED EYES or TO LIVE THE ART

A creative revolution is in the making: the arts connect us directly to the life-pulse. Art needs life, and living itself is an art. In fact the whole world is one great creative opportunity; by becoming a creator you experience oneness with creation, and when you lose yourself in art you discover the authentic part of your life, endlessly astonishing yourself with the joy and adventure of the creative process. Exalt in this process and you will touch the very heights of existence, without undue striving and without any imposed goal. A creative person is a rich person.

„We miss the art of failure. We have no culture with it, apart from blues or Viennese songs. We aren't prepared for the most important things in life. We do not learn how to deal with loss of property, health or what to do when our dreams and relationships break apart like a house of cards. Reality smashes our fragility leaving us like a scattered pile of broken pieces. It is a matter of learning the art of falling and understanding loss as a door to deeper levels of being. The beauty of being human involves banishment from paradise by and by experiencing the mythical fall. No matter how hard our nose-dive has been, we always fall in love.“

The book „The Revolution with closed Eyes or To Live the Art“ (29,7 x 21 x 08 cm) has 116 pages including 63 images of new works photographed by Renée Kellner and is published by Books on Demand. UNDERSTANDING IS THE BOOBY PRICE

The book on hand accompanies the creative artist Briant Rokyta throughout the day. His sculptures, paintings and texts bear witness to his always creative responses to the questions of mankind. Here, the humorous nature of art is explored and presented.

„Contemporary art is a beautiful open domain, freer than ever before and can go further: the art can spread and develop into a new type of society system in which people will no longer follow the mechanical principle but rather the creative and playful one. The Muses call us by our name, telling us about a new beginning and joy of what we are, asking us over to visit their world where every expression is inherently consistent. Be ready to follow - their voices are growing louder - assailing your brittle fortress of security to finally light a fire. There is no room there for "maybe" or "hopefully" the fire is burning and crackling and it takes all of you. The vision of a new type of society where creation is the centre stage and where everybody is welcome to share, is approaching depending on how much one lives it.“
